Survey Data Stream

Data Collection

Once your survey questionnaire is finalized, it is loaded onto the SDS website and you are supplied with a User Name and Password to access the on-line questionnaire.

The main goal of any survey is to obtain meaningful data by collecting the most honest and receptive responses possible. And contrary to some opinion, this is NOT accomplished by soliciting respondents while they are trying to eat dinner at home.

To maximize the survey process, your respondents must be open and receptive to provide meaningful feedback. Respondents are likely to be more receptive to providing quality responses when one of the following conditions exist:

  1. They complete the survey at a time most convenient for them.
  2. The respondents are properly educated on the purpose and objectives of the survey.
  3. They have an incentive to complete the survey (i.e. prize draw or discount/promotion offering).
  4. The respondents have an interest in the survey results.
People are more open when approached by a company they are familiar with (i.e. your organization) or through an on-line data collection resource like SDS, that guarantees confidentiality.

Whether your company directs respondents to the SDS website or SDS contacts respondents on your behalf via e-mail to visit the on-line questionnaire, SDS will work with your company to achieve the best response rate possible.

Note: Where on-line responses are not possible, hard copies of the questionnaire can be sent out to the respondents with self-addressed stamped envelopes to be mailed directly to SDS upon completion. Another option would be to assign a company employee from within to collect survey hard copy responses to input directly on the SDS website.
